There are previous examples of such behavior, for example during the "War on Terror", new laws were passed and new police powers established. All in the pretext of "fighting terrorists", but how often do laws get repealed when they hand more power to the government? I have a sneaky feeling though, that our old friend Murphy isn't going to be idle and that those who would control everything might not get their own way quite so easily as they'd like.
