Regardless of what various stats counters will tell you, it’s hard to really know how many people are reading this blog, and how many really use the resources here on my Favorite Links page. This long list of links reflects years of websurfing; I don’t necessarily agree with them all, but I find them interesting and relevant in some regard.
I don’t update that page on any predictable timetable. Sometimes I collect a bunch and might update the next week, other times it might go a month or two before I can find the time. It recently occurred to me, that if there were anyone out there who checked in there occasionally, there was no way to know if they’d missed a previous installation of “NEW**” links and thus found themselves frustrated by searching through the list for anything they may have missed.
Therefore I am starting a new semi-regular post that will separately list the ones I added that day.
How do I decide which ones to put on my main sidebar? There is no hard fast rule about that here, though usually it’s either that I really like the site, the author, and/or the site has Surfing the Tao linked on their main page (and that their content is relevant to what one finds here). I try to be discerning; there are many more I’d enjoy displaying on my sidebar, but don’t have the room. But if you have relevant content and want to exchange links (or find any broken links), you can comment here or shoot me an email at avmichaels(at)surfingthetao.com.
