Not from successful love alone,
Nor wealth, nor honor’d middle age, nor victories of politics or war;
But as life wanes, and all the turbulent passions calm,
As gorgeous, vapory, silent hues cover the evening sky,
As softness, fulness, rest, suffuse the frame, like freshier, balmier air,
As the days take on a mellower light, and the apple at last hangs
really finish’d and indolent-ripe on the tree,
Then for the teeming quietest, happiest days of all!
The brooding and blissful halcyon days!
For those of you on the edge of your seats as the Mayan calendar rolled over, welcome to The Rest Of It. If a shift is yet to come, we might be well advised that no one will know the day or the hour. Meanwhile, we find ourselves still in these same meatsuits facing a job yet undone. We cannot live for an end; we must strive for a beginning. We must be the change – we must live the shift.
We still live in a time of chaos, destruction and collapse. Things are intense out there. In fact, sometimes I look out and wonder whether the Mayans were actually right, but we just don’t recognize the signs anymore. Around us, the world is choking. Mega-corporations destroy Nature for greed; senseless murder, death and war terrorize; Big Brother tightens his grip; economic disparities abound, and collapse looms; our food, water and air are poisoned; the earth is cracking, shaking, exploding, and sinking; climate change and geoengineering are causing massive storms, floods and drought; possible inbound bogies and nuclear disaster threaten the world as we know it. Demons are running amok, and “The End is Still Near.” Are you still ready?
But we also live in a time of social revolution and evolution. Around us, powerful positive memes await the hundredth monkey. “The Beginning is Here.“ Can you hear them?
Divisiveness is a powerful tool of the dark side. I believe it was Machiavelli who first wrote about such ideas; not sure, because it is surely an ancient practice. Will we be able to rise above the crashing waves, to find balance? Will we overcome before we are overcome?
The word “Apocalypse” actually means “a revealing of something hidden.”
Knowledge can save us. Knowledge of what is right and good; knowledge of who the bad guys are and what they could really be up to; knowledge of the power we hold to change the very foundation of our civilization. Knowledge of love, of community, of neighborhood and Nature. Will we have to survive planetary upheaval to realize the truth? Will Creation have to wait for Destruction to pave the Way?
While skeptics gleefully dance circles around others who were anticipating a Last Day, perhaps it’s time for us all to consider that we are living in a season of change. Maybe these strange days are a kind of Galactic “days out of time”. In the Mayan’s rather imperfect Haab’ calendar, the five days of Wayeb’ are the five extra days added to the 360-day year as “unlucky” days during which time, “portals between the mortal realm and the Underworld dissolved. No boundaries prevented the ill-intending deities from causing disasters.” Sounds kind of familiar, doesn’t it?
We know it literally is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, astronomically speaking. The Kali Yuga and its monstrosities are winding down, perhaps to the consternation of those monsters who so thrive. And perhaps that is why we currently live in an often horrific world imprisoned by electromagnetic grids, debt, ignorance, violence and deceit. We – apparently at least most of us anyway – are seriously not on the right wavelength in any sense of the word. Are the powers-that-be trying to keep us from understanding our potential with an induced frequency haze? Are we rapidly spinning towards a Golden Age of Enlightenment, whether they like it or not? Is this the darkness before the dawn? As crazy as it sounds, this article on an alleged secret space war actually makes all the insanity seem saner. It really might have to be something that mind-boggling to begin to make sense of the mind-boggling senselessness going on out there. Frankly, I am not finding any satisfactory answers in the “mainstream” media, science and history they seem so desperate to keep us attuned to. (Like this, or this.) And I know I’m not alone in that. All I know is that I don’t know. And that is a better start to the truth than the crap we are force fed.
So allow me to continue. Perhaps, these cosmic “days out of time”, however long they might stretch, would end with the start of a new and different calendar, in a new era. Even mainstream science is discovering strange things like our solar system is indeed “passing through an interstellar cloud that physics says should not exist.” Some believe we are headed through something like a Photon Belt towards Alcyone, the center star of the Pleiades. Others that a Galactic Wave looms. These theories do seem to resonate with ancient teachings and lost histories, which rumored of “Golden” ages, as well as Dark ones.
Call me a dreamer, but it is interesting to further consider that the “Halcyon Days” are the mythological seven days each winter when storms never occur. They are days of peace. While the poetic phrase may recollect bygone nostalgia, we should be open to the idea that happy, carefree days are ahead of us. In fact, they might be here already, if we’d only open our third eyes and Know; if we’d only listen to the ancient teachers and their kind, simple words. Perhaps a trip through the Pleiades would serve as a cosmic wake-up call to all the still-asleep sheeple…
Hey – just sayin’. Anyone got any better ideas?
As the Mayan red herring (psyops?) swims by, I cannot help but think yet again of the boy crying wolf. How did a misinterpretation of an ancient calendar cause this much panic, preparation and paranoia? Were we all just lab rats in a global laboratory? Were they curious to see what kind of fear they could perpetuate, or did something really happen we are just not aware of yet? Are we now well put off to ever consider heeding any further warnings – like this for example? Is catastrophe still ahead of us? Because many of the possible scenarios imagined for the “Mayan Apocalypse” are still possible, but many will no longer listen, now that The Date has passed.
I am aware that some people are disappointed that something major didn’t happen, like aliens landing, or a pole shift or a massive solar flare, or even a consciousness shift. I find myself sympathizing with that train of thought and I think it’s because so many of us feel disenfranchised and disillusioned with the status quo. We just want something to change in a big way, because much of what’s going on out there hurts our hearts.
I agree: something has to change, and in a Big Way. But look around – things are changing, and it’s not always easy. Sometimes the bad parts have to be called out and torn down, kicking and screaming, before we can rebuild. And let us not forget the the most important change comes from within. As many have been discovering during some hard times recently, simple compassion and mutual aid work quite well. So no matter what happens, let’s keep walking towards this powerful love that might indeed be the Force that deals the final blow to our oppressors, and ends the world as they knew it.
The Art of Peace is not easy. It is a fight to the finish, the slaying of evil desire and all falsehood within. On occasion the Voice of Peace resounds like thunder, jolting human beings out of their stupor.
