Mind Wars: Ethics and Spiritual Ramifications of Neuroscientific Technologies

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery. None but ourselves can free our minds.” - Bob Marley

Mind control and other emerging neuroscientific technologies and weaponry constitute a frightening aspect of the future we presently inhabit. When one considers potential spiritual ramifications, as perhaps not all researchers and reporters do, it becomes clear that at the very least, awareness is crucial. The only question that remains is what we can do about it.

Information is not the problem. Even if we have access to only the tip of the iceberg in terms of what has been released to the public, one can write books on it. Recently, one person did; last year Dr. Jonathan Moreno, a bioethicist, published Mind Wars: Brain Research and National Defense. Granted, as a former government advisor on biodefense, and child of another Dr. Moreno, a psychiatrist known for his own questionable psychotherapeutic endeavors including human experiments with LSD in the ’50s and ’60s, one does wonder at his motives. Especially interesting is that he made a point of insisting he went as far as he could in his research (though he admits he hit a few brick walls in terms of what certain people and agencies were willing to divulge about military uses for the technologies), and then proclaimed he was ‘no conspiracy theorist’ to the extent that he didn’t quite believe the stories of people who claimed to have been victims of CIA-led mind control experiments and torture. That there are secrets too big to contain? Poppycock. In the name of national security (and perhaps threats to family, etc.) any and all can be kept quiet. Make no mistake about that.

His refusal to believe the disturbing stories is strange especially since in the ’90s, he worked on a presidential advisory committee investigating secret human radiation experiments by the US Government since the 1940s. It was during that time he learned of the CIA’s interest in LSD and other brain-altering methods – and still, in his own words, “it took the better part of another decade for me to achieve the insight that let to the idea behind this book: If national security agencies had so much interest in how the relatively primitive brain science of the 1950s and 1960s could help find ways to gain a national security edge, surely they must be at least as interested today, when neuroscience is perhaps the fastest growing scientific field, both in terms of numbers of scientists and knowledge being gained.“ (p.3) If it took someone so deeply involved in the subject matter ten years to begin questioning the ethics of new neuroscientific technologies, it does beg the (perhaps conspiratorial) thought: maybe we really are under some kind of mass hypnosis of non-knowing. Asleep we are, whilst wizards wage war right under our noses…or perhaps, behind them.

On the other hand, at least he’s bringing up the subject and beginning a dialogue on the disconcerting topic of ethics in regard to the use of these little-understood systems. He suggests that these new technologies may warrant consideration for new rules, policies, standards and treaty obligations. Dr. Moreno found it “amazing” that no one had yet analyzed the relationship between brain science technology and national defense. Personally I’m not surprised. These agencies don’t want their secrets out; that’s what national security is all about. Information is kept divided between multiple scientists and studies, the right hand never knowing what the left one is doing. However I might add, if it’s being tested, or worse, full-out used on our own population, we surely have the right to question the ethics and demand standards; but we may never really know if they would be adhered to, because the technologies themselves (many of which likely will never be declassified) could help to keep us in a state of denial or non-knowing or even not-caring. The capabilities of these technologies, even what little we know of them, can be frightening. It’s like a science fiction/horror movie come to life. And some of them are coming to a neighborhood near you.

Much of the information available comes from DARPA, which Dr. Moreno reminds us is not an espionage outfit but a science agency, and is involved with development of “dual use” neuroscientific technologies valuable to both civilian commerce and national security. Apparently there was no way to know for sure whether the CIA or other espionage agencies were also researching brain sciences, since that would remain ‘black’, or secret, explains Dr. Moreno. However what we do know seems disturbing enough to start with, if I may suggest.

Certainly one is encouraged at the idea that robotized limbs might prove useful to amputees and paralysis victims. This article about electric fields being used against cancer tumors is also interesting. However “dual use” does raise Terminator-like concerns. Move over, Bionic Woman. Imagine an army of robots, Asimov-style; or perhaps, an army of soldiers with implanted neural prostheses. A recent article informs us that the Pentagon is working on what could be the first phase of this idea by implanting chips in our soldier’s brains; do you believe they intend only to monitor their health, when we already know about Dr. Delgado’s behavior control experiments with monkeys and bulls? Long range, electronic control of animals is already a proven ability. The Augmented Cognition program, or AugCog, is an interesting offshoot of this concept, involving human-systems integration.

Psyops, or psychological operations, reportedly began sometime after World War II, first involving low-tech propaganda such as leaflets. Research into paranormal phenomena such as remote viewing followed in the 1970s with studies at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI). Dr. Moreno touched on experiments with neuropharmaceuticals, Manchurian-candidate style. Psychotronic weapons, such as electromagnetic radiation or ELF (extra-low frequency) waves and other Tesla technologies, have proven interesting since the 1970s to the Soviet and the Chinese military, among others, and were mentioned in the Space Preservation Act of 2001 along with other ‘exotic weapons’ such as chemtrails. Such technologies are known to be able to influence the psychological states of humans from great distances. fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imagery) technology could identify at a distance individuals with increased blood flow to the brain, thereby suggesting they might be prone to aggressive behavior. Imagine such use at airports, for example. Fortunately, as Dr. Moreno points out, a big problem here is a giant magnet like that would suck everyone up along with their jewelry and belt buckles! Unfortunately, it seems they are working on a way around that problem; Project Hostile Intent was reported just a few days ago in The Guardian, planned implementation being 2012. The brain fingerprinter is another development causing many to worry that the military can, or is trying to, actually read our minds, and the issue of cognitive liberties is aptly noted. I don’t think George Orwell would be very surprised.

Other DARPA programs such as PDS (Preventing Sleep Deprivation) and “Metabolic Dominance” promise enhanced abilities for soldiers, involving pharmaceuticals. Artificial intelligence programs such as LifeLog, now defunct, sought to artificially store memories and experiences; today, the Advanced Soldier Sensor Information System and Technology (ASSIST) seeks that very goal in combat situations. There’s also talk of altering soldiers’ neural circuits to lessen fear and stress. Transhumanism seems to many a natural evolution of our species; to others, the very death of it. Here the issue of spirituality seems quite threatened, in my opinion. Where does one draw the line, and where might spiritual individuality or awareness become lost? Visions of Star Trek’s Borg are marching through my head.

Non-lethal weapons are fast becoming the talk of the war room. The Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Program (JNLWP), part of the US Marines, defines non-lethals as, “weapons that are explicitly designed and primarily employed so as to incapacitate personnel or materiel, while minimizing fatalities, permanent injury to personnel, and undesired damage to property and the environment.” The Pentagon, among others, is interested in technologies that have use in “Operations Other Than War” (OOTW). Crowd control, hostage rescue, and capture of criminals or terrorists are named as such situations. Acoustic devices are among those which have caught my attention. Hypersonic sound (HSS) was first developed by a genius inventor called Woody Norris, about whom the New York Times Magazine did a fascinating story in 2003. This device can aim sounds at individuals or groups, at debilitating volumes, without affecting surrounding people or areas. LRADs (Long Range Acoustic Devices) are already in use by the military, used as information and warning devices. HIDAs (High Intensity Directed Acoustics) are more aggressive, like ’sonic bullets’, creating intense pain and vomiting. Trapped in Matter’s blog recently commented on an emergency warning device going up in downtown Chicago; he took a picture of it, and it resembles our upgraded tsunami-warning sirens here in Hawaii, which I took some shots of yesterday. Also check out this crazy picture; we have these towers here too, purportedly cell phone towers, but in Phoenix they are disguised as palm trees! These devices are going up rapidly all over the place. It doesn’t take much imagination to understand they probably have more than one use. Certainly HAARP, which uses electromagnetic radiation to influence the Schumann resonance, and thereby our own bodies and weather systems, comes to mind, no pun intended. For more information on this technology, which is now fully operational worldwide, I suggest starting with HAARP.net or Jerry Smith. There’s enough about that to warrant the many books already written about it.

Stinkbombs, or malodorants, are another area of research. Recently in the news is the new flashlight weapon, called the LED Incapacitator, which flashes lights that make you disoriented and nauseous. Nanotechnology is also rapidly progressing; who knows the implications of that yet. Perhaps most concerning is technology, such as the so-called “Frequency Fence” which supposedly cuts of an individual’s connection with their higher self, and the Holographic Insert, which can made three-dimensional objects (alien invasion? Second coming? 9/11?) appear in the sky. I could find a lot of rumors about those but not much substantive information. What I could find is evidence that there are proven capabilities to inject words and/or images directly into people’s minds. See MindJustice for more on this.

Dr. Moreno ends his book by recommending these technologies remain within the realms of both academic and military research, so that the ethics of their uses can be controlled; but remember he did admit there is evidently quite of bit of secret research going on that even he couldn’t find out about. ‘Informed consent’ is another of his recommendations for human experimentation; yeah, that’ll happen. As if our government even abides by the Geneva Convention anymore.

So what to do? It’s easy to become fearful, that’s for sure – and yet we must be careful NOT to fall into that trap; fear has a certain frequency of its own, and spiritual awareness, not to mention love, is far more difficult in that state. There are several places to find out more and/or get help if you believe you’ve been a victim; check out Center for Cognitive Liberty and Ethics, the American Cognitive Liberties Association, or even Christians Against Mental Slavery. But aside from that, here are a few practical recommendations. Take care not to consume too many food additives or chemicals; these can and do alter the brain, perhaps even resonating in concert with some of the technologies mentioned above. Take some time to connect with your higher power; whether through prayer, meditation, music, yoga, tai chi, art, sports, or whatever works for you. Just find and maintain a higher consciousness as best you can.

Finally, I’d like to end with a little telling test of hope.

Point to yourself.

That’s right; point to yourself.

Where did you point? In my experience I’ve found that most people place their finger or hand on their chest or heart, rather than their head. And this is a good thing. It tells me that what makes us us, our I AM so to speak, resides not in our brains but somewhere else. The essence of our spirit, and I believe we are spirit beings riding around temporarily in physical bodies, is connected to and resonates with a certain frequency that could remain outside the purview of our military if we simply know and practice this awareness. And TUNE IN to the frequency of LOVE. This seems simple and obvious but can actually be the most difficult thing to do, considering all the non-love we get bombarded with every day.

So am I horrified at these new technologies? Yes. Am I afraid? No. Don’t stick your head in the sand; and yet, don’t let them rule your life or get you down. I believe it’s simply part of what is meant to happen, before we can take ourselves to the next level of being – or frequency. Our present dimension is not the end, nor is it the only one; quantum physics can teach us that already. What the powers-that-be may not realize is that they are increasing our awareness and understanding of the frequency of being to the extent that many more of us may indeed be able to escape their control one day. I personally have had the experience, in mediation, of touching a higher place (certainly I’m not the only one, either); I’m not going to preach to you about heaven, but I do believe in higher dimensions and our ability to get to a place where love rules the day. Can’t prove it, but I’ve been there, and I plan on going back as soon as I can pass on the info to a few more souls.

So keep the faith. All is not lost – not by a long shot.

Your mind should be in harmony with the functioning of the universe; your body should be in tune with the movement of the universe; body and mind should be bound as one, unified with the activity of the universe.” -The Art of Peace

Notes from the Surf VI

  • Put your tinfoil caps away, folks. Seems like all they’re doing is amplifying the government’s mind control frequencies.
  • Think you can avoid RFID chips? Now they come in a new, convenient powder! For more on RFID technology go to RFIDnews.org.
  • Scientists now say they have evidence of at least 201,055 undersea volcanoes; over 10 times more than previously discovered. Estimates are there could be as many as three million!
  • Apparently a group had planned a voyage into the Hollow Earth this summer, but had to cancel the adventure when one of their colleagues passed away. Hmmm…
  • The Tunguska mystery has resurfaced in the news. Scientists believe they may have found an impact crater indicative of an asteroid, but this letter, written by Nikola Tesla to the New York Times just a couple of months earlier before the explosion in 1908, has always made me wonder…
  • Check out this new invention: the LifeStraw could change the world.
  • What do you think; is Unity08 really an alternative, or is it just another ruse, perhaps a way to split the liberal vote?

Immanentize the Eschaton

A concept created by political philosopher Eric Voegelin, “Immanentize the Eschaton” has become for some a sort of rallying point for the cynicism of the post-modern age. Whether one believes the Powers-That-Be are conspiring to bring about the End of the World, believes fervently in a religious prophecy or other eschatology, or simply enjoys the references to The Illuminatus! Trilogy (or perhaps even William F. Buckley, who popularized the phrase); one must admit, it does have its relevance nowadays.

Voegelin used the term in reference to what he saw as a Gnostic influence on modern politics. He recognized various political movements, particularly communism and Nazism, were set forth by an elite group of people who believed they possessed special, secret knowledge and even attempted to ‘create heaven on earth’ – or immanent-ize the eschaton. A grab for power based on totalitarianism and social alienation, as he saw it.

From the back cover of my book, “A secretive and selfish elite has kept spiritual knowledge as well as Earth’s true history and science hidden from the masses for centuries. Today, technology, religion, politics and apocalyptic scenarios continue to serve their agenda of ultimate global control.”

End Times scenarios are scattered liberally across our cultural landscape. Are we simply reacting to a growing sense of unease in our Orwellian nightmare, or is our subconscious trying to tell us something? 2012 and the end of the Mayan calendar cycle has brought other prophecies, Earth-shattering weapons technologies and astronomical warnings to the forefront. I devote a chapter in my book to such concepts, because I find them all strangely synchronistic. Aside from galactic alignment, devastating solar flares and the possibility of Planet X making its swing by our solar system and hastening a polar shift, our own weapons technologies are perhaps among the scariest to fathom. From Tom Beardon’s Fer-de-Lance, “If significant scalar effects are produced on Earth in a ‘pulse’ mode…the coupled resonant response from the Sun could be disastrous. The simplest Doomsday simulation would be for a violent expulsion of solar electromagnetic energy and particles…In that case, the fiery destruction of the Earth, strongly indicative of Biblical prophecy, would result. Particularly sensitive are the resonances of Sun-Earth, Sun-Moon and Earth-Moon systems.” Interesting to note the recurrence of such a fiery doomsday in over a dozen books of the Bible, the Koran, Zoroastrian scripture, Native American prophecy, and others. If such weaponry were the cause of our ultimate destruction, I would say someone has indeed done a very good job immanentizing the eschaton. Tesla would be mortified.

And there are other prophecies to be aware of. Christian End Times prophecy predicts Israel becoming a nation again and Hebrew returning as a spoken language; we take this for granted now, but this might have seemed impossible to our grandparents in their youth. Another prophecy involves rebuilding Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem, which is tricky since the Temple Mount is currently occupied by the Muslim Dome of the Rock. But you can be sure, there are groups ready with the blueprints. Also the rise of a great peacemaker/Anti-Christ figure; popular nominees include Maitreya (and more recently, Jose Luis De Jesus Miranda) who will unite the world in one government and one religion. Back to Herr Voegelin and the Powers-That-Be; some point to certain US foreign and internal policies as being generated by the “New World Order”, the as-of-yet unrealized goal (?) of the world’s leading politicians and businessmen. I touch on this in my book too – make Machiavelli proud; manipulate the masses into misery and chaos, then offer to fix it. They’ll never know the difference. Fnord.

Lao Tzu wrote, “The master observes the world, but trusts his inner vision.” From my book, “Be aware of these forces, but never give in to fear. The battle is not fought in the outer world, but in our minds and spirits…Learn to create a new reality in harmony with the Tao. Just by changing our minds, we can change the world.” Whatever happens, this is the Way to peace. It’s Surfing the Tao. Immanentize the Eschaton? Bring it on, I’m ready!

The End of the World As We Knew It

The world we knew ended long ago.

Didn’t we know a place of peace before?

Perhaps it was only a dream.

Our planet suffers now

As a child left alone in the wilderness

Ignorance leads to starvation.

I cannot grieve for this doomed existence,

Yet I will know the sound of its final demise.

Not World War III.

Not a giant asteroid.

Not another ice age.

Not the anti-Christ.

Not the Battle of Armageddon.

Not the slaying of the dragon.

When every child’s tears turn to laughter,

This is the beginning of the world as we knew it.

“A global array of inexplicable stone megaliths stands as a haunting reminder of a past long gone, of knowledge long forgotten…or is it?” – Surfing the Tao: A Revolution of Free Will

Alternative and free energy technology has been a favorite topic of mine since starting down this journey into the strange and unexplained. Much of my early research created an awareness of some kind of mysterious power source used in very ancient times, which could have been passed down to certain elite groups even today. I’ve found some tantalizing tidbits in various places – The Atlantis Blueprint by Colin Wilson and Rand Flem-Ath connects ancient sacred sites like the Great Pyramid and Stonehenge into a complex network centered around Giza as the prime meridian. In their model all of these ancient sites (including Rosslyn, Jerusalem, Babylon, Machu Picchu and many others discovered after their grid was determined) fit together in a neat geometrical grid around the planet.

Another researcher, Bruce Cathie, has written several books about a planetary energy grid. He discovered that these same ancient sites were located on points within this grid indicating specific connections to light, gravity and mass, “It appears as though Stonehenge was constructed to the universal geometric harmonics of light itself.” (p. 170, The Energy Grid) He believes they had specific functions connected to power production, communication, transportation, healing and perhaps other things as well, and questions why there is ‘feverish, government-based’ activity at these locations. Tesla himself knew his technologies needed to be located at specific points on the earth’s surface to work properly. Other sites which discuss ley lines, geodesic energies and the alignment of sacred sites can be found here.

Technologies such as HAARP, ELF, weather modification, electromagnetic and advanced psychotropic weaponry could be utilizing a global array which harnesses that same energy source used long ago by ancient cultures. And who knows what other advances are out there. Once can find rumors that the delta-shaped blimp, a possible source for many UFO sightings, is actually a military project which uses electrokinetic propulsion – resulting in a silent, floating ship. Also an alleged holographic technology can beam realistic images and audio anywhere.

Cathie believes the main reason much of this technology is being kept secret is because of the financial consequences should this knowledge be released. National security is at stake too – although it’s rumored that many other countries already have and are likely using these technologies. Right now the oil giants reap the most benefits of our out-dated energy systems, but this is likely to change. Tesla Motors recently announced the development of a powerful electric car which, though still expensive and in its early stages, could revolutionize our dependence on oil. Another researcher also recently came out with a controversial new energy discovery, now being hotly debated in the halls of science. And there are many others out there who understand the science behind alternative and free energy, and are working against great odds to get the truth out – not only about the technologies still beyond our reach, but about how keeping them secret creates the danger they could be used for the wrong reasons. It’s truly a brave new world, and we’d be better off knowing a little more about it – both for our own sake, and for the sake of our planet.

Practicing Eternity

“The Tao …is like the eternal void: filled with infinite possibilities.” – Tao Te Ching #4

Centuries ago everyone knew the world was flat, and that the Earth was the center of the Universe. The geocentric, or Earth-centered, view of Reality was the leading philosophical and religious belief during the Middle Ages, held since Aristotle. This view appealed to the human ego, as well as to the powerful religious leaders of the time eager to maintain their authority. Copernicus started no less than a scientific revolution when he suggested otherwise, and later scientists Bruno and Galileo would suffer greatly for it during the Inquisition.

Why was the Church so intent on refuting evidence that our world, and our species, were not the center of God’s creation? Of course, because it would disrupt the vast power base they had so carefully constructed, with them in charge not only of the religious, cultural and legal framework of society, but over the concept of Reality itself. In order for them to retain their power, they had to convince the populace that their power and authority came from God Himself. To believe otherwise directly confronted their control over the western world at the time, and could be very dangerous.

Surprisingly, in today’s ultra-modern, high-tech world, we find ourselves under similar illusions. Of course, we all know the world is round, and that it is just one of many planets, in one of many solar systems, in a vast and expanding universe. However, even though quantum physicists have known for decades that we live in merely one small slice of a much larger dimensional framework, the world at large is for the most part unwilling or unable to comprehend or accept what this revelation could mean to us. As Lao Tzu wrote, “true wisdom seems foolish.” (#45)

Such awareness would place us at an even smaller level of importance than we believed we held in medieval times. And human ego is still hard at work, convinced of our self-centered belief that this is the only world, the only Reality, that we can Know. Not to mention, the power and authority of our time has just as many reasons to keep us from knowing beyond or present reckoning of Reality as did the Church during the Inquisition. Our governments and corporations do not want us to acquire awareness outside of their established parameters. They have too much to lose.

Our wise and ancient sages long ago attempted to open our eyes to a broader concept of Reality, and our true place within it, but their words mean little to today’s short attention spans, media conglomerates, personal gratification and insufferable egos. If we merely listened carefully to the words of Lao Tzu, Buddha or even Jesus, we might learn that what we term and define as conscious Reality is no more than the resonating ball of light and shade explanation set forth by famous scientists such as Einstein and Tesla. Lao Tzu wrote, “seeing into darkness is clarity.” (#52) Whether explained through spiritual or scientific words, what’s important is the realization that things are not as they seem, and we might we wise to look beyond our physical senses for the ultimate definition of Reality. If we could set aside our egos, maybe we could live in harmony with each other and our world. “If you keep your mind from judging and aren’t led by the senses, your heart will find peace.” (#52)

Imagine what an eye-opener it must have been to learn the Earth is round, instead of flat. Some people may have continued to scoff the idea regardless of scientific evidence. Today, even the well-educated scoff at the notion of a multitude of dimensional realities. And this is merely the tip of the iceberg. As a species, we cannot be said to know even one small percentage of what there is to Know. How can we argue which religion is right, or which government is best, if we are not even looking in the right places? Learn from the sages, or learn from the scientists. Understand the Tao, or the Unified Field. The real truth of our Reality is within us, within each and every person. We are part of It, and It is within us. Read between the lines, and Surf the Tao into a higher awareness of Reality, and a new world of peace. It’s up to you.

“Of all discoveries and opinions, none may have exerted a greater effect on the human spirit than the doctrine of Copernicus. The world had scarcely become known as round and complete in itself when it was asked to waive the tremendous privilege of being the center of the universe. Never, perhaps, was a greater demand made on mankind - for by this admission so many things vanished in mist and smoke! What became of our Eden, our world of innocence, piety and poetry; the testimony of the senses; the conviction of a poetic - religious faith? No wonder his contemporaries did not wish to let all this go and offered every possible resistance to a doctrine which in its converts authorized and demanded a freedom of view and greatness of thought so far unknown, indeed not even dreamed of.” -Goethe

Mind Control?

“The more we do to you, the less you seem to believe it.” –Joseph Mengele

Bruce Cathie is a former pilot who has written several books on field harmonics, including The Energy Grid (1990) and The Harmonic Conquest of Space (1998). He discovered a series of harmonic geometric equations which can cause reactions in space-time if put into practical application. He theorizes, as did Einstein and Tesla, that space-time manifests from the geometric harmonics of the wave motions of light, and stated, “we live in a reality of un-reality; all is an illusion, and the stuff that dreams are made of. Our physical world is nothing more than a resonating ball of light and shade.”

Cathie also mathematically showed the harmonic links of the human body to its natural environment, and speculated that people are ‘tuned in’ to varying degrees. Of the four frequencies of our brain’s electromagnetic wave pattern (Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Theta), he found that the Alpha frequency (awake, and relaxed) produces waves around 10.6 Hz. The “Shumann Resonance” is the wave guide which channels extra low frequency (ELF) waves around the Earth, and the average frequency of these waves is 10.6Hz. In other words, people are like walking radio transmitters, tuned into the environment to an extent of which we are probably unaware.

HAARP, the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program, is a series of transmitters designed to turn the aurora borealis into a virtual antenna. The public goals of this giant ionospheric heater are earth-penetrating topography and deep-sea communications. However, it uses ELF in the same frequency range as the human brain, and a supposed hidden agenda has been hotly debated.

In the 1970s it was discovered that Russia had been bombarding the US with its ‘Woodpecker’ signal. Newsman David Brinkley said on the air on July 18, 1981, “As I say I find it hard to believe, it is crazy and none of us here knows what to make of it: the Russian government is known to be trying to change human behavior by external electronic influences. We do know that much. And we know that some kind of Russian transmitter is bombarding this country with extremely low frequency radio waves.”

A 1982 US Air Force Review of Biotechnology stated, “…RFR [radio frequency radiation] experiments and the increasing understanding of the brain as an electrically-mediated organ suggests the serious probability that impressed electromagnetic fields can be disruptive to purposeful behavior and may be capable of directing and or interrogating such behavior…”

And of course there’s MK Ultra, a covert CIA operation uncovered during the Kennedy administration, which investigated the possibilities of modifying an individual’s behavior by covert means. There is so much more information out there I will only say further, how odd it all is when you begin to research it. And how very important it is that we do. How else can we be sure we are even acting with our free will? A great synopsis of such information can be found at http://www.wanttoknow.info/mindcontrollers10pg
