From my understanding of Taoism, dwelling on written prophecies is not part of The Way. We could sit and read every ancient text, but the path will never be in future mind projection, but in joyful acceptance of the present.

Wow…I just turned 30 on 11/11/11 and i was born @11:11pm on 11/11/1981. Funny my girlfriend and I always talk about checking the clock and seeing 11:11, she is a 9/9.

I don’t accept the Mayan prophecy idea, but there is a definite feeling in the air. A lot of things seem to be converging this year, I think that we are going to have a very interesting and worrying year!

This is the third post I’ve read on gratitude today. Something must be in the air. It’s great to see it though because from gratitude comes contentment and from contentment with what you have comes happiness, even when times are tough.

My gran used to say – be thankful for small mercies. The sun in the sky, the clothes on our back, the food in our bellies. As you say, we have so much to be grateful for even amongst the tormoil of the modern world.
